• The UAE handled 8 million international passengers in 2023, with major flows to Asia Pacific (40%), Europe (24%), and the Middle East (23%)
• The country ranks as the 8th largest international passenger market, with 857 daily international flights and direct connections to 109 countries
• Over 1 million tonnes of air cargo were transported in 2023, positioning the UAE among the top global logistics hubs
• Since 2014, international air connectivity has increased by 39% in the Middle East and 15% globally for the UAE

These achievements underscore the UAE’s pivotal role in driving global connectivity, trade, and sustainable aviation growth.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been a member of the ICAO Council since 2007, actively shaping international standards, promoting innovation, and championing sustainability in civil aviation. Through the leadership of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the UAE plays a central role in advancing the strategic priorities of the global aviation community and strengthening international cooperation.

The UAE Reception, scheduled for the evening of 27 September 2025 at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal, will be a premier cultural and diplomatic event during the ICAO Assembly. Attended by:

The ICAO Assembly is open to:
